Meet Charlotte Henderson, Fundraising Executive

November 10, 2023

How long have you worked at Camphill School Aberdeen?

I have worked at Camphill School Aberdeen for around two months after starting this role in August 2023.

What brought you to Camphill School Aberdeen?

I have always been interested in working in the third sector as it is a chance to make a real difference in people's lives, so when I saw that Camphill was hiring for a Fundraising Executive, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity.

What does your role at Camphill School Aberdeen consist of?

As a Fundraising Executive, my role consists of raising awareness of the work we do at Camphill School Aberdeen and any campaigns we are running. I have a particular focus on raising awareness within corporate businesses of our fundraising and volunteering opportunities.

Every donation no matter how big or small can help transform the lives of the young people at Camphill School Aberdeen and, as a local charity, corporate support is hugely appreciated and can make a real difference.

I also support the wider fundraising team with events, campaigns and any other fundraising activities.

What aspects of Camphill School Aberdeen are you most excited to be involved with as you continue in your role?

I’m excited to continue working with our corporate partners and to host more volunteer days. Our volunteer days are a fantastic way for people to see the work we do first-hand and help out on the estate. I’m also looking forward to continuing to spread awareness of Camphill School Aberdeen through these volunteer days.

When complete, how much of a difference will the capital appeal campaign make to children, young people and their families at Camphill School Aberdeen?

The capital appeal will make a huge difference to our young people, their families and the wider Camphill community. Camphill is such a unique place and our Building Futures, Transforming Lives campaign will ensure we’re able to help more people for generations to come.

By increasing our capacity, we will be able to open our doors to more young people with complex additional needs, saving families the agonising decision of sending their children far away from their homes. Camphill is a ‘home away from home’ for all our children and young people.

The opening of Murtle Market will also make a big difference to our young people as it will provide them with meaningful work experience. Murtle Market will be our first public-facing endeavour, creating a whole new variety of skills development for our young people.
