Murtle Market Store Co-ordinator

Position Type: Full-time (Part-time/ job share may be considered)

Murtle Market is a new subsidiary company of Camphill School Aberdeen and has an exciting first opportunity for a full time or part time Store Co-ordinator. 

Murtle Market is a public facing Social Enterprise where children and young people can directly or indirectly be involved in delivering an organic and sustainable store. Local and seasonal produce will be offered, as well as refilling schemes for dried food and environmental friendly cleaning products. This store will also be a place where products and services created at the craft, land-based, training kitchen and the bicycle maintenance workshop can be found.

Purpose of the role:

• To join a new team as part of a training, skills development and sustainability store that will help young people with additional support needs develop skills for life and reach their full potential.
• To help develop and maintain a thriving store and Murtle Market in general.
• To front face the newly developed Murtle Market social enterprise.
• To keep Murtle Market store fresh and attractive to new and existing customers, ensuring seasonality and (Camphill) festivals are on display.
• To develop effective collaborations with members of the local community, as well as internally with the wider team, to identify and grow future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the store runs efficiently and professionally, with high quality and organic/biodynamic products.
• Contribute with the team to help assess the needs from students and their progress.
• Promotion of the store as a community-based social enterprise.
• Help create and maintain a nurturing and safe learning environment for young people.
• Ensure the store, and everyone involved in it, are up to date and in compliance with the highest standards of environmental health and safety.
• To maintain and rotate stocks on shelves in liaison with MM assistant.
• Ability to use and epos system and generate reports when required

Education Learning Lead

Position Type: Full-time (Term-time may be considered)

Do you have:

• Full GTC Scotland/relevant registration/qualification(s)
• Management/supervisory experience
• Experience of working in an educational setting with children and young people with additional support needs
• Demonstrable experience of collegiate working with other services and outside agencies
• Knowledge/evidence of working to learning outcomes/targets
• Evidence of excellent report writing and recording
• Evidence of excellent verbal communication skills
• Current knowledge and understanding of Protection of Vulnerable Groups’ legislation
• Holding PVG membership for work with children and vulnerable adults
• Ability to recognise, act upon and create opportunities to achieve school objectives
• Commitment to high attainment and achievement for all children
• Commitment to working in partnership with parents, local services and outside agencies
• Willingness to undertake further training if required

BSS Trainer

Position Type: Training

Closing Date: 31-07-2024

BSS Training Instructor

Full Time (approximately 30 hours per week) or Part Time, alongside your current role (3 days current role, 2 days trainer)

 

About the Role:

Camphill School Aberdeen are currently looking for BSS Trainers to assist with the BSS Training of our staff and volunteers.

This role will include providing the 3-day BSS Training alongside another instructor, completion of all paperwork involved and practice sessions in the Houses with staff and volunteers.

To become a BSS Trainer, you will need to undertake a 4-day BSS Trainer course, followed by an assessment. You will also be required to re-certify your BSS Instructor certificate annually on a 1-day recertification course.

 

Applicants:

Applicants must have, or be willing to achieve, the following to be considered for the role:

 

  • 2 years continuously employed in a support / care / teaching role.

 

  • Experience of working with a variety of service users and people who challenge services.

 

  • Professional Qualification with up-to-date registration. (SVQ in Health and Social Care, Social Work Qualification, Nursing Qualification, Teaching or Education based Qualification).

 

  • Up to Date 3-day BSS Training.

 

  • Up to Date First Aid Training.

 

  • Up to Date Manual Handling Training.

 

  • Train the Trainer Training (this can be provided).
