Volunteer Trustee

We're seeking to recruit new members to join our Board of Trustees. 

New Trustees will be joining the Board at an exciting time as we celebrate our 80th birthday and launch a significant capital investment campaign.

As a trustee you would play an important role in the strategic direction of our charity and support local children and young people to achieve their fullest potential. 

Applicants should have a strong commitment to the work of our charity, along with skills and life-experience to complement the diverse mix of talents within the wider Board. While not essential, we welcome applications from individuals who bring skills/experience in:

  • Charity/Corporate Governance
  • Education/Social Care
  • Marketing/PR.

Workshop Assistant

Position Type: Full Time

Closing Date: 11-12-2020

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a workshop assistant to join us as part of the Learning for Life day services team.

The day services offer a wide range of craft workshops, workshops that follow the social enterprise model as well as land-based workshops. All our day service provisions focus on therapeutic health and wellbeing, skills development, social integration, training opportunities and employability.

As a workshop assistant you support (small) groups of children and young people within the different workshops. Through building up strong relationships with the children and young people and offer meaningful activities and work you help them reach their potential.

All our day service provisions support a zero waste, sustainable, organic and eco-friendly ethos and holistic ethos.

Do you have:

A keen interest in supporting children and young people with additional support needs to gain and maintain a sense of belonging and achievement through meaningful work, tasks and activities.

Relevant experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs.

The ability to work as part of a team.

Good communication skills.

A clear PVG/Criminal Record Check
