Amber Kindergarten is for children aged 3 - 6 and runs term time only in line with Aberdeen City Council term dates.
Based on Waldorf educational approaches with close alignment to the principles of the Curriculum for Excellence, we have outstanding outdoor resources which include forests, farm animals, stables, gardens and orchards.
The Kindergarten runs from 9am – 3pm Monday to Friday, providing 30 hours of funding per week for qualifying children. We also provide an optional aftercare programme which runs 3pm – 4.30pm Monday to Friday. We also offer self-funded placements.
We provide inclusive, holistic education and support, staff also have extensive experience in work with young children with additional support needs.
The Kindergarten was inspected by the Care Inspectorate in January 2023 and was awarded the following grades, 1 being unsatisfactory and 6 being excellent:
How good is our care, play and learning? 6 - Excellent
How good is our setting? 6 - Excellent
How good is our leadership? 5 - Very Good
How good is our staff team? 6 - Excellent
We were absolutely delighted to be regarded as being sector leading.
