School Life

In school the classes are generally grouped according to age, using the Waldorf Curriculum based on guidelines formulated by Rudolf Steiner. Pupils are offered a comprehensive educational programme between 7 and 19 years. An extended schooling programme is provided for youngsters of 16 to 19 years, followed by a transition year. A fully registered day and residential nursery providing pre-school provision for three to six-year old is also available. Pupils receive tuition in literacy, numeracy and communication skills in small groups with lessons tailored to individual educational needs. Afternoon lessons have a practical bias and include gardening, animal care, craftwork and cookery.

Therapies and Workshops

Individual therapies are given to meet the specific needs of pupils. Those offered include speech formation, physiotherapy, movement, therapeutic art, riding therapy, hydrotherapy, therapeutic music, play and counselling.

Older pupils participate in a variety of craft workshops: pottery, felt, candle, weaving, metal work, woodwork and in the Tools for Self Reliance Workshop.
