Cairnlee House
Further Education and Training for Young Adults with Special Needs
A provision of the Camphill Rudolf Steiner Schools
Information
Medical cover
Residents can be registered with the Camphill Medical Practice or choose to keep their own doctor. If the need arises they will be referred for Specialist treatment at hospital. The Camphill Medical Practice also offers a variety of therapies such as therapeutic art, therapeutic music, physiotherapy, eurythmy and counselling.
How to apply for admission
If you are considering a placement, you are welcome to arrange an informal visit to Cairnlee House. After this you may wish to make a formal application and arrange for a trial visit (minimum two weeks). If the trial is seen to be successful by all parties involved, a place may be offered as soon as a suitable vacancy arises. At this point an Application for Admission Form must be completed.
Fees
Our set fees cover both residential placement and day activities. This is usually paid by Social Work Departments and Income Support received by the individual.
See our Application for Admission Form for details on fee levels and invoicing.
Holidays
Cairnlee House offers training to young adults, preparing them for their future and should not be considered as a permanent home. Therefore, we have 8 weeks’ holiday per annum during which the students are expected to go home or find alternative placements.
Visitors
Friends and family are always welcome to spend time with us or take the young people out for a day. It is, however, necessary to arrange such visits in advance. We also encourage regular phone calls.
